Using Kind to test your local changes to Kubernetes

Please make sure you fetch latest tags from the master branch of Kubernetes, since the tags determine how the kubernetes sources are built and more specifically what features are deprecated and/or what features are in alpha, beta or stable versions of the kubernetes.

Once the build finishes, you can find out what containers were built.

We assume, here that you are testing a new feature in Kubernetes, that is either not released and you are just too curious or you are a Kubernetes contributor who just added a new feature and you want to test it locally. Many times if the feature is Alpha, you will need to make sure you create the Kubernetes cluster with alpha feature flags enabled.

kind.yaml

Kind also lets you export the logs of the control plane and kubelet. Just type the below command and see the magic.
