Signing up for a Better Future

Every startup faces difficulties, in the beginning, it could a business startup or just a new job adjustment, the staring is the hard part, where we need to break the surface and grow against gravity.
Whenever we face a problem the first and far important thing we do is to identify the problem. What are the issues? Either these are related to us? Or it is a gap in communication? What are the causes of this problem? What is the origin of these hurdles? If we own these questions, it means we are own the problems. Amal career-prep fellowship is a rapidly growing area of knowledge and working to form a huge group of people with mental and physical stability.

It is very difficult to establish an institution, the number of problems, hardships, and the tough situation arise unexpectedly.
They started in Lahore at the beginning and then Karachi now Faisalabad, as it is a new concept here, so people of Faisalabad are new with it and the problem Amal academy is facing is less admission application. This obstacle is due to many hurdles that are acting like the symptoms of the disease.

To overcome this situation our whole group decided to arrange a meeting to discuss the situation, problems regarding this and to make a plan for the solution. In that meeting firstly we make a list of all obstacles behind this major problem which was

Secondly, we go towards the ideas for making a solution plan. By brainstorming, taking feedback from the persons who were in search of this type of academy but they were unaware of it. Then we came up with different ideas to increase the applications for Amal Academy which were:

In the meeting, we decided to set our mode of communication in which we convey our message to other people. For that purpose, we go towards social media like the post on Facebook, status on WhatsApp and story on Instagram etc. People who were interested, we reach out to them via the inbox. In case of not responding we use the way of sending the email, reaching out to them by call and in some cases where the interesting persons were in our close relation, we reach out to them by meeting arrangement.

People who were unaware of Amal Academy, for them we prepare an elevator pitch which was

“Amal Academy is an educational startup by Stanford University and Acumen. This is three months fully funded course by PepsiCo and you just have to pay 2000Rs/. Commitment fee. It is an institute of higher learning in which you are able to improve your communication skills, problem-solving skills and confidence as well. This Academy makes you a lifelong learner. So, if you want to be a part of this immense vision and our Amal family to increase your selection chance, inbox me your name, contact number and email address as I’ll be happy to help you in this regard”.

We apply all these ideas to make people aware in this context and guide them how and why they should have to join Amal Academy.

I want to add an interesting moment here which proves that if you convey your message through proper communication then you reach out to your goal. The incident is that, when we were collecting funds regarding the Edhi foundation, 2 to 3 people came towards us and they ask us what are you doing? What is the purpose behind this social work and who ask you to do that? I convey my message on behalf of Amal academy, tell them about it and other various skills which we learn and about different activities. Those people surprisingly donate as well as they gave me their name, number and email address to enroll in Amal Academy. It was a great achievement of the knowledge and skills which I got from Amal Academy.

On the other hand, if I consider the difficulties which I faced was to arrange 35+ signups in a table, making coordination on time with the group and with the people who want to know about Amal Academy. It seems a little bit difficult for me to answer some questions like

But overall, I come up with the situation and convince people with confidence and the result is list of signups.
