Part I (*that should keep you hooked up..*)
A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon an intruiging place. A few kilometers from a factory where we load cargo for one of our clients I noticed from a distance what looked like an old passenger train. I kept the location firmly in the back of my mind for a possible photo adventure.
And ‘Yiehaa’- today was my lucky day!!
I was too late for loading. The factory is closing at 16.00 h and guess what time I showed….pfff, you know what-nevermind… not important. A window of opportunity opened, that was important!
I quickly parked my truck, grabbed my camera-stuff and walked to where I thought I saw the old and rusty vehicle.
For heavens sake… It turned out to be a photographic heaven….
This spot appeared to be a scrapyard for trains. That makes it highly attractive for graffiti artist, a few vagabonds, and a wandering photographer.
Of course I am undoubtly a superhero who is afraid of nothing or nobody, yet this place gave me oddly enough a bit of the creeps… (but hey- it’s for Snapshots…so I’ll keep going! For the greater good….uh-huh!)
A final resting (or ‘rusting’) place for trains- even highspeed trains remain here.
The Glory Days are over…and does give a certain sadness to the surrounding.
‘Danger de Mort’- Life Threat. One of the scary parts of this afternoon- did they shut the power down….. or not?!
