My heart is on litmus!

yet another Christmas
my heart is on litmus
blinded by the lights
I see only darkness
stooping under sins
I am crushed by the cross
shackles of guilt
dragging my feet
bleeding from the brain
ego weaving a thorny crown
words whipping the back
my raw skin is burning
with a tear-soaked soul
with a trembling hand
I stand here, lost in the crowd
I don’t know where to go
where are you, Jesus?
I am not going home
I cannot face their eyes
too many broken promises
too many heartbreaks
my empty pockets are already torn
even the shillings hated them
this festive season, all this glitter
I just want to hide somewhere
this cross is too heavy for me
my mind is blank
I am walking dead
clasping my hands
I fall to the knees
still feeling grateful
for this very living moment
where are you, Jesus?

yet another Christmas
my heart is on litmus.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
To all those daddies who are going through a tough time during this festive season as they scramble to find the money for that special Christmas gift.
